Víctor Castelo

From 1997 to 2003 he was a member of DANTE’s Directors Council, an entity that coordinates the activities of research networks in Europe. He has had a special participation in the development of the GÉANT network in Europe and of RedCLARA in Latin America.

He has also been involved in several scientific committees, expert commissions and the project evaluation for the National R+D Plan and of the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programme by the European Union in the field of ICT and e-Infrastructures. From 2005 to 2009 he was the President of the Spanish Chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC).

He currently develops his work on research networks at the Informatics Associate General Secretariat of the CSIC and is a collaborator of the Ministry of Science and Innovation on e-Infrastructures, acting as delegate in the e-IRG (e-infrastructure Reflection Group) and in the EGI Council (European Grid Initiative).
